Tulips are perfect for any occasion...
Tulips originated in Southern Europe, North Africa and Western Asia but can now be found growing in almost every corner of the globe. Although perhaps most closely associated with Holland, Tulips have now become a flower of the world. Tulips were initially considered a Spring flower however modern cultivation methods and glass house growing has meant that Tulips are now available year-round.
The Tulip (also known by the Latin name tulipa) requires partial to full sun to flourish, and for this reason often survives an average of three days indoors. The bulb is planted at a depth of 8 to 9 inches under the soil.

The tulip has a sword shaped leaf and one stem bearing a large magical cup shaped flower that comes in a range of colours from white though oranges and yellows to red and also some twin coloured flowers

| Caring For Your Flowers |
When you receive your tulip bouquet trim the stems and put in a vase with lots of water. Keep your tulips out of the draft and direct sunlight and change the water every 3 days. Flower nutrients or bleach in the water should not be used as it will make your tulips open too quickly. Vase life for tulips will vary but is up to 7 days.

More About Tulips & Cut Tulip Care...
When planting tulips, it is nice to place them close to one another to avoid having them standing by themselves in the Spring. This is one flower that always looks better in groups which is also why they have become so popular with florists – not much beats Tulip Bouquets or a beautifully boxed group of Tulip bulbs.
When properly cared for, cut tulips will remain fresh in a vase of water for 7 to 10 days. For longer-lasting tulips, cut the stems when you first get them home. Place the bouquet on its wrapping paper or newspaper, and trim the stems diagonally, taking away about 2 centimetres of stem. One of the interesting things about Tulips is that they actually continue to grow after being cut, up to 2 centimetres or more.
They also grow to the shape of the container, vertically up if in a tall vase, or twisting to fit into a lower level or unique shaped vase. For the best and longest lasting cut Tulips, place your Tulip Bouquet out of direct sun, and away from heating vents or drafts. Top up the water level each day to keep your Tulip arrangement at its best
